The Garden Guides are a trained group of Friends who take members of the public for free guided walks in the three Botanic Gardens.
If you are interested in becoming a guide, please contact us about the training program which is offered every two years.
Lectures and practical walks in the gardens occupy a day per week for twelve weeks, usually from March to May. Some research at home is also required, so this is a substantial commitment, but it's well worthwhile.
The guides hold regular meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month to discuss issues and plan walk programs. Guest speakers at these meetings keep our skills and knowledge up-to-date and other guide development activities are held on a regular basis.
